[D2 EM] Special... Delivery...?

[Tethys Carrack]

Poor Officer Kif appears both curious and rather overwhelmed about the droid and the Jedi. Tethys, at least, benevolently ignores both kinds of expressions warring on the security officer's round face. "Uh--it's in here, sir--um--ma'am--um." Like a lot of beings, he apparently has trouble accurately gendering a fully-armored autonomous battle droid with a Republic citizen military ID...

The comms cubicle work surface looks like it's been hastily cleared off; there's still a sticky ring from someone's mug of kaf on the edge of the control panel.

"Thank you, Officer." Tethys nods. "Veeone, want me to tag along or wait outside?"

[V1-V0]

"You are a Jedi Knight. Your security clearance is higher than this unit's anyway, so there will be nothing you cannot hear."

With that it ejected its data probe from its left wrist and inserted it into the computer port. The probe span several times and V1 emitted several blurts of code in binary. Surprisingly quickly a small holo activated showing a Mirialan with Lieutenant's insignia, who practically shouted across the holonet at them.

"V1! You have reached Alderaan. DO NOT INITIATE COMBAT!!! THE WAR THERE IS OVER!!!! Your orders were a mistake."

"I am aware of that Lieutenant Y. Knight Carrack has informed this unit of the true state of affairs. Requesting new orders now." The droid replied.

"You were supposed to go to Hoth again." The Mirialan looked off holo and there was a muted conversation with someone else, before the Mirialan turned back to V1 with a resigned look. "Apparently there isn't any transport to Hoth available. Is Knight Carrack there with you?"

Veeone turned to the Jedi. "They want to speak to you, Knight Carrack."

[Tethys Carrack]

"I'm here, Lieutenant." Tethys leans into range of the vid pickup. "I'm on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan. Sergeant Veeone might be a little... over-qualified for tactical support. It could certainly pick up some polish here, though."

[V1-V0]

The holo of the Lieutenant salutes. "Apologies Knight Carrack, if you could keep it busy while I try to organise transport for the Sergeant to Hoth, I'd be obliged. Perhaps protection detail for some of our other representatives there?"

Veeone merely stands there while the two discuss it at long distance.

Tethys glances sideways at Veeone and then back to the vid.

"No trouble, Lieutenant. Sergeant Veeone must have earned a week or two of cushy duty by now, right?"

Well, if Veeone were an organic, anyway. That hypothetical squishy, biochemical Veeone might in fact consider a gig at the Festival of a Thousand Flowers to be a nice change of pace. Tethys isn't so sure the real, mechanical Veeone will agree...

"Err... there are some hazards here that could pose a risk to Republic personnel, actually, I suppose. The Killik hives, Galen said something about a Kath hound... I'm sure we can find something to keep busy with."

"Just make sure it doesn't start the war up again please, Knight Carrack. Veeone is absolutely terrific in a fight and I would it down first for any assault mission, but it is not suited to peace. I think it wrote its own non combat subroutines sometimes."

Veeone's head swivelled to face the hologram again.

"Affirmative. Czerka programming was lacking in that regard. Knight Carrack was one of those to assist this unit with non combat protocols during the Relief of Bankor."

[Tethys Carrack]

"Don't worry, there aren't enough Sith here for an interplanetary diplomatic incident," Tethys says, maybe less reassuringly than she intended.

"Ah... then consider this a valuable testing zone for upgrading those protocols, perhaps."

[V1-V0]

"Downloading local situation updates. Stand by."

Veeone's dataprobe began rotating again as it processed the current situation on Alderaan and scooped up any useful maps.

"Thank you, Knight Carrack. As soon as we can find transport to Hoth we will update V1, but I'm sure you understand we're not going to divert a bulk carrier for a single individual." The Lieutenant looked suitably apologetic.

[Tethys Carrack]

"Of course not." Tethys nods serenely into the pickup. "We'll be just fine here until you get its new orders cut, won't we, Veeone?"

[V1-V0]

"Roger, roger."

Veeone was nothing but predictable in this moment.

[Tethys Carrack]

"Well then." Tethys spreads her hands palm-up. "Anything else the sergeant or I should be aware of, Lieutenant?"

She glances aside at Veeone. "I'm sure I can arrange a charging port at the Silver Spires. That's where most of the official Republic visitors will be for the next standard week-and-change, so you'll be right in the middle of the action. Ah... the festive action, I mean."
