Contracts'R'Us (D7, MM. House Uros)

Kat called head first asking to be allowed to visit House Uros before she took a thranta out.

She didn't expect too many answers to come out of this visit, but she was willing to see where it would lead.

[Dapper Dog]

House Uros eschewed a castle or palace for a more modern campus style layout, there lands were small but well maintained nestled in thick forests. The flag of the House flying high over the campus, when she landed a woman and two house guardsman were there to meet her.

One of the guards spoke, “Welcome master Jedi, you speak with Countess Basani Uros, head of our family and master of these lands.”

Basani spoke, “We are honored by your visit, master Jedi, how can I be of service this day?”

Stepping forward, Kat gave a respectful bow to the Countess. "Thank you for recieving me, your grace. I'm Katarzyna Ulgo."

"I'm merely looking for some answers, to help with an on-going investigation," she explained calmly. "Nothing that would harm the honor of House Uros, but your House and the business you perform might hold some answers, if I may ask some questions."

[Dapper Dog]

“I will do my best though I must caution that our employers come to us because of our discretion and faithful adherence to the law,” she said kindly.

She gestured for the Jedi to join her as she walked the ground and said, “But otherwise I am honored to aid your investigation.”

"Of course," she nodded, but well... it didn't hurt to ask, hopefully.

Walking alongside the countess, she took a moment to admire the area. "This should be about a contract that has been... bought off, from what I understand of the situation. On House Lanar? I don't know if matters are different on those that have been concluded."

[Dapper Dog]

“Oh yes, that was a rather lucrative assignment. Once an assignment is a matter of record, there is nothing to hide. What questions did you have? I believe we acted in proper accordance with the pursuit of that contract,” she responded.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"That is good to hear. I was curious who issued the contract on the Lanars... and who paid their price?" she asked, not sure what sort of answer she was hoping for.

[Dapper Dog]

“Oh, House Riss,” she said casually. “Yes that House RisT, but we don’t question our employers. There pay was good and we acted with Honor.”

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"House Rist issued the contract, and then settled the payment to end it?" she asked with some confusion.

[Dapper Dog]

"We don't question our employers, that is their business," she replied.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"Of course. I'm just... trying to understand the situation correctly. One of my friends was the one targeted, hence my curiosity."

She thought for a moment. "May I ask when the contract was issued?"

[Dapper Dog]

“It was a long standing contract, our sources believe that House Thul had Rist do the dirty work, but they came to us, not sure why. We have held it since, it was only recently that we were notified that House Lanar folks were back on planet and thus the contract was in play, poor record keeping. I can assure…” she stopped herself.

“Never mind, long story short, Rist paid us handsomely for our service.”

This seemed to align with her theory that the Rist, or rather Bryson specifically who had probably been keeping track on things more, might've pulled out the contract from their records and used it as leverage.

"I see," she nodded, thinking. "Thank you, your grace. Your answers have been very helpful. Is there anything I can assist House Uros with, before I take my leave?"

[Dapper Dog]

Her mind raced with possibilities but also the Jedi brought complications. She finally said, "We hope the Jedi Order appreciate the role House Uros played in your investigation."

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

An interesting choice of words. "You have been most helpful, and your help has been appriciated." She bowed. "I will not take up more of your time, your grace. Thank you, for your time and your hospitality."
