The Sunset Dawn had arrived sometime in the very earliest hours of morning; a few hours later, some of its occupants were finally walking off the ramp and out onto the planet where there was a beautiful festival...

...except some security officer was running after the pair: a black-armored/robed figure with two lightsabers, and a grey-armored/robed figure that was smaller and younger with only one lightsaber.

"You forgot your dockin-- Woaw, you can't wear something like... oh, Jedi!"

Yes, this was a common occurance. Layne forgetting things like docking fees.

She coughed. "Yes, of course."

"I can handle it Master."

"Don't be ridiculous. Wait over here, I'll go handle this."

And off Layne went, leaving the teenage girl behind to look vaguely intimidating, glaring at people passing by while her Master headed to a security office to handle the transfer of docking fees.

She arrives and finds the port fees have been paid. By House Rist.

On the one hand, she knew that Tyche was strong and capable. She had yet to master a proper form, but she was hardly helpless. On the other hand, Rist would not send some rookie against a Jedi, even a padawan.

She ignored the security officer's confirmation about who had paid the bill, and started sprinting toward where she'd left Tyche, scanning the crowd and pulling out her darksaber. She did not ignite it yet, but she wanted to be ready just in case. She would also channel the force, if she could, enhancing her physical abilities in case this was going to turn into a footchase or some such.

Her apprentice was on her knees with two people wearing the colors of House Rist, one had her padawn’s twisted at a terrible angle, the limb had to be broken. As Layne made herself known a woman put a stiff boot in her apprentice’s gut and then turned to Layne holding a keen saber in one hand.

“Layne Hoshin, of the Jedi Order… late of the Sith order, you killed my sister and I have come to claim vendetta and your life by the traditions of Alderaan, do you deny killing my sister? Do you deny killing Vidara Rist!” she challenged.

OOC: Threat used to break the apprentice's limb.

The darksaber was ignited the moment she realized they had broken Tyche's arm. Only the vague peripheral awareness of the fact they were in a crowded spaceport meant she had yet to plunge it into the throat of the one responsible.

"You will unhand the child, then you will apologize to her. Then you and I are going to talk about why you thought it neccessary to bring violence to a child that has nothing to do with this."

“You deny it? Of course you would, you have no honor… what else should I expect from an offworlder. You killed Galen Rist, my mentor, and she died in his service. It had to be you… acting as a Sith,” she said with anger.

“I am not without mercy, unlike you. You have three days to settle your affairs then the full might of House Rist will hunt down you and yours, you will watch anyone you love or care for die and when your despair has mounted to the peak, your life will be mine.”

“The Vendetta is made, and House Rist will see it through,” she turned from Layne and walked towards a waiting shuttle. The others unhanded her apprentice and followed suit.

The woman had given her no chance to respond. Nor seemed inclined to have that conversation Layne mentioned. Maybe she should just go after her *now*. Right here, in the middle of.... that would go so well. Ugh. Layne stared angrily at the woman's back; that old *hate* bubbling up again. It would've been one thing to simply accuse and threaten her... but assaulting her padawan? Threatening *them*?

Finally she turned to Tyche, kneeling down.

"I'm sorry," she said, "I should've been here."

[ooc: maybe some more conversation with the padawan? also not entirely sure how to handle the broken arm]

"Kriff that hurts and I am not disagreeing, I am blaming you and them," she said bitterly.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Yeah," she said, sounding a little resigned, "this one's on me. Well, mostly them. But also a little bit of me. I've never met this sister she talked about, but I did kill the other one she mentioned. Listen, I'll bring it up at... brunch... see what the others have to say about this. If we have to I'll send you back to Tython so you won't get get caught up in this even more. Can you move your arm at all?"

"So mistaken identity?" she offered not trying to move her arm.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I'm guessing her sister got killed on some job and she was never told the details. Maybe I killed Galen before he could pass those details on. Every action has consequences, often ones we won't see until we're much further down the road."

Listen to her, sounding like an actual teacher. She surprised even herself sometimes.

"We can stim you up right now if you feel you need it, but that's not going to help fix a broken arm. If you're lucky it's just dislocated, then we can fix it but... well, you're the one feeling the pain so you tell me. If it's broken we'll go find a first aid station or something. Spaceport's got to have one."

She agreed with the finding first aid plan.

"Alright, let's go then," she said, making sure to help her padawan up with as little pain as possible before they'd try and find a first aid post; where, hopefully, she could get the arm fixed as good as it was going to get fixed right now.
