[Day 4 - LA] The Beach Episode (Twin Event?)

Meanwhile Omandri was also giving it his all in the game. He wasn't an overly competitive person person but he firmly believed in giving every endeavor your all and well he had spent a lot of time working out and training so he had Stamina and energy to spare.

Bran had started to chuckle about the idea that something was in the air, but as Jocasta moved on, he looked at her with skepticism.

"That's an interesting idea, Jocasta," he says slowly, keeping his tone level. "What would that statement say, if you were writing it?"

Jocasta pondered for a moment, having expected a more vehement response.

"Well, I suppose that would depend on where the statement was coming from. If it were to come from the Duke, it could be something along the lines of, 'It is time to move past the transgressions of our children and focus on the strength and unity of Alderaan. As a leader in the Galactic Republic, we must put our best foot forward together. In that spirit, I must demand my countrymen who are acting against the Crown in my name cease immediately or face the full penalty of the law.'

That won't stop all the protestors, but it could stop the misguided ones. He could also put out a statement that House Panteer has been acting in good faith, especially if Gaul is no longer the Crown Prince."

She pauses to take a sip of her drink. "Now, if the Duke refuses to abandon his pride, and the statement needs to come from the House of Lords, it may need a different tone, one I'm not sure you are ready or willing to set."

Well, there he was staring at people when someone's core temperature was fluctuating. He was by no means a medical expert, but he could tell from the flow of heat around her body that she had been hurt recently. Soft tissue around her was darkened a bit. Those were bruises. Even if they were healed, imprints would remain for a little.How or why, well, not his problem. Could also be the sun; very hard to be anywhere near social when you couldn't get a read on people and their facial heat. Could be suspicious.

Could be nothing.

Considering why he was here, it was worth at least investigating. He looked at Hacha and nodded. "Wring up the specs for that, just give me a small moment." He got up from the tent and into the sun and made a move, his eyes squinting from the sunlight and the sand, reflecting the heat all around him.

Just needed time to adjust from being under a tent. With that, he made his way to the rather human and stared at her. Didn't really say anything for a long moment while he looked her up and down more closely.

"You appear to have had a rough day." He nods at her and shakes his head. He didn't really know what to say next, not at all sure if this best way to start a conversation with someone whom he had never met. Wait, feigning concern. That was important step to it.

"Are you okay?"

She had just found herself a reclining chair to... what the hell was this, was Layne *actually* sunbathing? My god, what's the galaxy coming to? She even had sunglasses on. Which, she now lowered down her nose as a...

...asked her if she was okay.

Huh.

"Uhm... yeah?" At which point she sipped her drink through a straw. Why did they only serve colorful drinks here? This was an outrage.

[Layne still has 2 actual unhealed wounds, basically a few scratches and bruises worth I'd guess.]

Niall looked at her, his expression gentle. "I'm sorry for your loss." He said, inclining his head. For a moment, he was respectfully silent. "I'm glad you had something. In dark times, it's more important than ever that we all help each other."

"I've made my peace with it." She lied. "I just wanted to offer some clarity, the order exists for the Jedi, and the Jedi exist for the galaxy."

"I see that you are hurt. Assuming not from the Huttball game." It was matter of fact sort of tone. He looked up and down her body again, but the heat of the exposed skin and the sun was just making it difficult for him to understand the next social cue needed for this conversation.

It was foolish for him to come here without a better plan.

He didn't panic, of course; there was no reason to do so. He was always cool under pressure. "I saw you enter and noticed you." He paused, realizing his redundancy. "Sorry, I meant to say that I noticed your frame as I entered and noticed how you looked."

That sounded right.

Well, it *was* serious. Explosions are almost always serious. Especially when they happen that high up.

One he had his fill of the game Prince Gaul Panteer got another sexy on the beach and then did the walk-through party meeting with old friends and new. Taking sips of his drink and just enjoying the ambiance of a good time.

Thirst-Trap Technique.

“Nice suit, Kataryzna,” he said. “Dig that serve, Omandri.” He sipped his drink and said, “This strong woman, must be Layne, pleasure.”

In general he just liked to be seen.

"Are you trying to pick a fight with me, Jocasta? Because I asked you a question, listened to your answer respectfully, and then you essentially called me a nonentity in this discussion. I don't think even the military would call that a strategy to win friends and influence people." He pauses his stern look to take a drink, lowering the temperature a couple of degrees.

"First, let me relieve you of at least one misconception. I am not here to win friends.

Now if this is your response to my comment... Well, they say that anger is often a sign of a guilty conscience."

He hadn't heard anything about a explosion today on Alderaan; maybe this was worth pursuing more. Where could he go from here, though? Just get them talking and maybe something will come from it. "Explosions, you say? Very dangerous things you're involved with." He looked at her again and gave a small smile. "Quite capable of avoiding such dangerous things."

He looked at the other prince as he walked by and sort of stared at him for a few moments before turning around. He looked strong enough, and people seemed to have a increase flush on their faces when he walked by. It was anyone's guess what that meant, really.

Layne, though. Could have sworn he had heard that human name a few times before. Didn't matters, really. Must be a tens of thousands Layne's in this sector alone. Just another Layne from somewhere.

Layne nodded at being recognized by the prince. And yes, she looked. She wasn't ashamed of it. Of course, it did almost make her forget there was a less well-defined blue alien trying to talk to her.

"...uh? Oh, right. Yes. Lots of explosions. Good that I'm alive. What did you say your name was, again?"

Her face flushed up as well while looking at the Prince, that much could be observed given the difficulty. Maybe it was some Force Power or something he was using. Had to check with Durasay later about it. Though it did seem as if he was clearly immune to it due to his natural strong will. There was a niggling feeling, though, as he walked by while looking at him.

Maybe that had to do with his power.

Layne might've been a little confused at what precisely he was attempting to do. That is to say, there was one obvious interpretation, but if that was what was happening it didn't seem like he was very good at it. Although that did fit in with the whole 'not doing these sorts of things very often'.

She might as well reach out through the Force just for the hell of it, see if she could get a sense for what this strange alien was feeling.

Frustration was the clear feeling he was having with talking to her. Though it was mostly towards his own self, and not at anyone in particular. Though there is was a very active attempt to suppress that feeling within him.

"Socialize. Durasay usually does it more than I do, so I watched and learned. It has helped.me some and have learnt to do it better with your humans over the years."

It was likely he had lost the chance to talk about the event. He had to get better that this.

A small smile starts to cross Bran's face, and he chuckles as he shakes his head.

"I see. You're that kind of person. Mission has to be done your way or else. Alright. So what is it that you think you're going to do here?" he asks, eyebrows raised over his drink in genuine curiosity.

Intrigued, Jocasta responds, "The mission doesn't have to be my way, I've always been open to recommendations from my troopers, but I have neither seen an alternative nor been offered one. What I have seen is Alderaan on the precipice and certain parties are pushing it towards that edge rather than trying to pull it back.

I had some assumptions and some intentions when I heard about the events behind the Festival and spoke with my family about participating, but I myself was relieved of some of my misconceptions recently as well. So as for what I personally am going to do, that is up in the air for the moment.

What I do know is I can not sit idly by while our peace is threatened... can you?"

He looked at Garth. "So, tell me, Garth. What's your dream lifestyle? Anywhere in the galaxy?"

Handing his empty cup to a passing droid waiter who would be in need of a thorough oil bath to deal with the sand sure to be clogging his gears by the end of the day, Garth nodded his head.

"Ah've been givin' some thought t' that of late. Ah think it's time fer me t' return to the fold. If mah old commission's still available, might try'n shoot fer them Tenant stripes."
