[Day 1 - EA] Queen's Protests

[Blai Frayus]

Blai had gone back to the spaceport hoping to figure out some things regarding bureaucracy for some specimens he had brought back and some more he hoped to send back in the not so distant future. Instead, he ended up caught in the middle of the shouting, with some nobles and others he didn't quite recognise apparently trying to calm the crowd down, and... The Imperial guard? Protecting... Was that the princess??

He wondered what exactly that was all about as he tried to keep the large wolf close to him calm despite the yelling. He moved a bit closer to the thick of the crowd for a while... But then decided to keep to the sides for now. Having Elur get frightened in the middle of everyone wouldn't be a good idea...

He looked towards the noble that seemed to be addressing one of the ones at the forefront of the protest, then at the princess top get a better idea of what's going on...

This kid was a insufferable sort. Demanding that he speak directly to someone in a House like that would have gotten you thrown to the surface of his planet to cool down for a week. The crowd was starting to slowly become smaller thanks in no small part to those Thul folks, and the lady seemed to be no worse for ware. About the experience So glad more extreme measures were not necessary to secure the area.

Nudimsu would wait a few more moments before the crowd started to become less...bothersome before entering still. The mob seemed rather upset over the Empire and they seemed beneath the intelligence needed to understand that not all Chiss served it.

Seeing from afar that violence is not going to be an option, Tovalt runs to a stall and quickly pulls out a trench coat from a bag and puts on an empty badge. He then goes to the crowd and begin asking questions.

"And you are?" he asked as the crowd dispersed and he was the last of the protestors.

A woman approached him and said, "We should go, too many people here. You got the message out and I got it all on holo."

“I didn’t throw anything, but people are understandably angry. The Republic let us down, then our Queen let us down, and now we are just supposed to take it and shut up? If someone does not stand up and fight then the corruption in the Senate is going to rot the very core of Alderaan. I won’t lose my world to the Empire, Duke Bouris Ulgo is our only salvation, and he will fight for us,” he replied calmly.

“I will peacefully execute my rights until such time the powers that be silence me.”

The woman started filming quietly.

"Yeah, no. If you want to speak to me then do so, I don't deal with lackeys. Otherwise we have nothing to talk about," he said in reply.

Bran barked laughter in the other man's face.

"Lackey?" He said, loud and incredulous. No longer smiling, the nobleman now looked like a disappointed drill sergeant. And started to sound like one. "I guaran-damn-tee that I did not spend the last eight years blowing the hell out of Sith trash from here to the Outer Rim to put up with that. So, proud boy, you can meet with me -- and schedule it through my chief of staff here, like a war veteran or someone who's actually important -- or you can--" A sustained pushing from Kaleena half turns Bran (so his side arm is away from Tuvi) and starts driving him toward Garth and the princess.

"Look forward to hearing from you," Kaleena deadpans over her shoulder without looking back. Bran keeps a wary eye on the protest leader for several moments but doesn't resist Kaleena and eventually turns to walk more respectfully toward the princess and Garth.

Shit man… These folks are pretty far down the rabbit hole.

Wonder just how they got there…?

Delmi stood calmly among all the hustle and bustle and continued to watch.

Galen listened as he continued to look around.

Jameela is shaken by the events, it was all… almost so violent and then someone threw a shoe at her? What the hell was going on. Why did they hate her so much? The war was over and she could not believe that all Sith were a monolith, just like all Jedi or really any group.

Was she in the wrong?

With Tuvi distracted with his interview, Bran was able to shake off the confrontation and approach the princess. He'd restored a respectable bearing, but he was still not smiling as he stopped at a respectable distance for the guards. He lifted his head with intent, looking for permission to approach close enough to converse at normal volume with Jameela.

She seemed a bit taken back by the approach but then she gestures for him to approach while the Queen’s Guard watched him carefully. She said, “Are you okay? That looked like it hurt.”

Count Serenno had entered the crowd and was now plowing it with as much dignity as the roil permitted, toward the centre of the commotion. He was curious about the brand of these protests, being a student of the science of discontent.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri had been on his way to watch the Queen's address in person when he saw everything going down. The situation seemed to be at a tipping point, the crowd had been calmed a bit but now seemed driving toward violence a bit.

Omandri moved toward Jameela keeping an eye on the situation his pulse quickening a bit with the tension in the air. He took a deep breath keeping an eye on the scene as he approached the Queen's Guard.

She felt the rising anger before she saw the first squadron of guards moving to the yard where the protests were happening. By the time she had gotten there the problem had all but solved itself. "Tsk," she protested audibly. Here I was hoping for a good brawl.

Still she lingered and took in the scene just in case something else were to happen. While it's true that a return to hostilities was inevitable. And leaving the fighting where they had was... uncomfortable. The fact of the matter is that the Sith won, and further bloodshed would have been pointless. Now was the time to rebuild.

She eyed the chief protestor amusedly.
