[Day 2 - LM] Soup for the Masses (Twin Event)

Taking off her bracers and rolling up her sleeves, Kat readied herself for the task of washing and cleaning dishes. For the moment she was perfectly fine with watching the interactions at play, and remaining alert to anything of notice.

Dish-washing was after all something she could do with her eyes closed after all the time she had put in for that back on Coruscant.

“Any day I can do my part to help the people and be of service is a great day. I know that not everyone here would be here otherwise but if we can use our influence to do some good then so be it,” she said honestly.

“How are you, Major Organa?”

"I'm doing well, thank you." Niall said, smiling agreeably. "It sounds like you and I see eye to eye on that. Especially since we wouldn't have some of the influence we do without the people we're helping."

He sighed, lifting a tray. "It's been a while since I did it on Alderaan. Well, except during the recent war, but that feels different, somehow." He shrugged.

"It seems that way. I must always remain vigilant that I do not run afoul to any of them. Given yesterday's antics, I'm not sure if I entirely succeeded." Despite that, Cynella smiled and shrugged. "In a way, I'd say that this festival is a break from tradition, that being the nobles serving the commoners."

"I never considered it that way, but that is an interesting view on the topic, but we value our people. They are the soul of Alderaan," she said warmly.

Meanwhile

Meanwhile over by all the supply vehicles, Archie is doing what he can to keep spirits high by starting up an Alderaan Jody. This takes their mind off of how disgusting their bodies are becoming with all the sweat and grime and more on the good they are doing. The people sing along and that makes some people cheer and laugh and all around it's a wonderful time.

"I'm doing well, thank you." Niall said, smiling agreeably. "It sounds like you and I see eye to eye on that. Especially since we wouldn't have some of the influence we do without the people we're helping."

He sighed, lifting a tray. "It's been a while since I did it on Alderaan. Well, except during the recent war, but that feels different, somehow." He shrugged.

"I... all of that suffering, I detest war and violence. It saddens me that so many suffered, the Empire and the Republic... I just wish there was a way to end the cycle of violence," she said honestly.

Noticing the audience Garth smiles that country bumpkin smile at Joran.

"Sides, never hurts t' show off a little fer the ladies, right?" He asks, trying an angle that focused more on Joran's apparent self-interest. "She seems quite impressed."

"They all are, but you know it is what it is," he said glancing over at the women.

Once finished he added, "If moving tables impresses a suitor I am not sure they are worth impressing."

Gil gave a nod to his fellow dishwasher but didn't strike up a conversation, sometimes it was just good to work.

"Ain't the act that's impressin' her, but th' intent." Garth clarifies as he grunts a little under the weight.

"Ye don' wanna be here, that much's obvious, but y'are. Ye're giving yer time t' help with somethin' yer sister feels strongly about, ye're puttin' someone else's concerns above yer own. For a bunch of women, lookin' t' become Mrs Joran Panteer, that's a very attractive trait."

He cleared his throat. "Before that, I'd done most of this sort of work on Bankor. They very much needed it. The war with the Mandalorians devastated that world. Now, partially thanks to Alderaan, it's flourishing again."

His mood seems improved.

"Indeed, you know your gastropods! Pantha collected them in the early hours of the morning and then we set to spicing. I was worried some might not know the fine art of Hutt cuisine."

"It is something of an acquired taste, but I traveled on a Hutt ship for awhile." He explained. "And, growing up in the wilds, I acquired the taste for many unique foods."

He wasn't really sure why he was here in the morning, volunteering to assist with is matter. After all, it was just a display to appease the masses into thinking that their leadership authority cared for them in some way. Offering mere scraps, all for the public's sake. There was no need for such things in the Ascendency, as they always took care of those who were apart of it, needing no displays of charity. Another measure of the weak monarchial society before him.

Still, this gave him yet another opportunity to get a better look at those around him and, maybe figure out the players in this game a little bit more. Maybe those stupid rebellious teenagers would show up again and cause a scene, exposing themselves more and maybe figure out who is behind them, if anyone. There were opportunities aplenty in such a scenario. All he had to do maintain himself while being around a bunch of humans and being forced to interact with people.

He hated crowds. Hated attention almost as much. At least the latter could possibly be avoided. Just had to do what he needed to in order to continue his job he was on this planet for. So, wherever there was a gap to be filled, he did his best to fill it with either soup or cleaning.

Setting down the table at their destination, Garth clapped the prince on the back. "Tha's th' spirit. Now ah got a few more tables t' go, ye're welcome t' help or return t' yer lady friend as y' see fit. Glad ah could help y' see the value in all this

Delmi mostly just went about her work with little fanfare.
